About Kristy

Kristy Fifelski is a speaker and public servant with over ten years in local government. She formerly served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Government Webmasters.

Kristy created GovGirl to share videos exploring online government. View her upcoming events and speeches on Gov 2.0, social media and web management.

Kristy is the Web Services Manager for the City of Reno, Nevada (The views expressed here are Kristy’s alone and do not necessarily reflect the views of her employer). She manages the award-winning Reno.gov website, social media program and over 70 content authors in city departments. She was voted “Employee of the Year” for the City of Reno in 2008, and earned several national awards for Reno.gov.

Kristy graduated with honors from Northern Illinois University with a Master’s Degree in Communication. She is formerly the Public Relations Coordinator for the City of Wheaton, Illinois, and Deputy Clerk for the Town of Cortland, Illinois. Kristy is also an experienced teacher, and has had the privilege of instructing public speaking and social media classes for TMCC, NIU and the University of Phoenix.
